A 17-year-old suspect, who is currently under investigation for attempted homicide, has been remanded in a psychiatric facility. The detention order was issued at the Offenbach District Court due to the ongoing investigation and suspicion of a mental illness.

The suspect was provisionally arrested in their apartment following the attack. Subsequently, investigations were initiated by the police and the public prosecutor's office. A comprehensive trace evidence examination was conducted at the scene, led by specialists from the Hessian State Criminal Office. The suspected weapon was secured during the evidence examination.

The suspect was presented to an investigating judge at the Offenbach District Court on Friday afternoon. The judge's decision was based on the suspicion of a mental illness of the suspect. Dr. med. Karin Boeder, a child and adolescent psychiatrist, is likely to examine the 17-year-old in connection with suspected mental illness. Dr. Boeder conducts thorough diagnostic assessments including physical exams and psychometric tests over several sessions.

The suspect's case is still under investigation. The court has decided that the suspect's accommodation will be in a psychiatric facility. It is yet to be determined if the mental health evaluation will impact the ongoing investigation or the potential legal proceedings.

The Offenbach District Court is handling the suspect's case. The court will continue to monitor the investigation closely and determine the next steps in the case. The public is reminded that this is an ongoing investigation, and all parties involved are entitled to a fair and just process under the law.
